Functional Nutrition for Perimenopausal Women in Portland
I’m Chelsie Moore, MS, CNS, a Functional Nutritionist based in Portland Oregon specializing in Integrative Women’s Health, with a love for perimenopause nutrition and hormone health for women in midlife.
As a board certified and Licensed Nutritionist, I work with women who feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and not quite like themselves anymore.
Most of the women I see are doing everything “right” on paper—but still feel tired, anxious, inflamed, or out of sync with their bodies. Often, they’re also carrying the mental load of caring for everyone else, which only adds to the depletion.
My work is about helping you understand what’s actually going on in your body during this season of life—and what you can realistically do to feel better.
WHY THIS WORK MATTERS TO ME
I didn’t come into this work from theory alone.
Like many of my clients, I experienced my own season of burnout, brain fog, and feeling disconnected from my body. Both my mother and grandmother were menopausal by their early 40s and I began my perimenopause journey early in life as well. These experiences changed how I see health—not as something to optimize perfectly, but something to support gently and realistically over time. I understand BOTH: women’s physiology/hormones AND the reality of motherhood and feeding a family.
This experience also shaped how I work with women now: less pressure, more clarity, and a focus on what actually fits into real life.
MY APPROACH
I take a functional, whole-body approach to nutrition, but I keep things simple & realistic. We’ll work on lowering your body’s overall stress burden to lessen symptoms as well as leveraging specific nutritional, herbal, and homeopathic remedies to ease symptoms more immediately. I consider my job well done when I’ve also educated you on women’s physiology to help you understand what is going on in your body. Knowledge is power!
I have done extensive training in Women’s Integrative Health & Perimenopause/Menopause care and am effectively able to help you understand what natural options may help support symptoms as well as understand what your options are for a Hormone Therapy referral should we deem that path the best option.
This all to say, we focus on:
supporting energy and blood sugar in a steady way
understanding hormone shifts during perimenopause
reducing overwhelm around food and daily routines
making changes that feel realistic, not extreme
supporting your nervous system, not just your nutrition
No rigid plans. No perfection. No overwhelm.
Just steady, practical support that meets you where you are.
WHO I WORK WITH
I work best with women who are:
feeling low energy, burnout, or “off” in their body
navigating perimenopause or hormonal shifts
tired of trying to figure it out alone
ready for something more grounded and sustainable
If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place.
WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE TO WORK TOGETHER
We start with a deep-dive session where we slow everything down and make sense of what’s going on.
From there, we build simple next steps that actually fit your life—not an ideal version of it.
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s helping you feel more steady, more energized, and more like yourself again over time.
