Trying to conceive can feel like waiting, hoping and wondering what else you could be doing. There's a lot within your influence, and you don't have to figure it out alone.
Does This Sound Familiar?
Every fertility journey is different, but many women share some of the same experiences. You might be:
Planning to conceive in the next year and wanting to prepare your body well
Dealing with irregular cycles, painful periods or unpredictable ovulation
Living with PMOS/PCOS, thyroid issues or another condition that affects fertility
Trying for months with no clear answers
Preparing for IVF or IUI and wanting to support your body through it
Feeling overwhelmed by conflicting advice about what to eat and which supplements to take
Carrying stress, grief or pressure that's hard to talk about
Your feelings are valid, and so is your desire to do everything you can. Let's focus on what's within your influence, with care and without blame.
What Shapes Fertility?
Fertility reflects your overall health, and many of the factors involved respond to nutrition and lifestyle. Key areas include:
Ovulation and cycle health: regular ovulation depends on balanced hormones, steady blood sugar and adequate nourishment
Egg quality: eggs mature over roughly three months before ovulation, so the months before conception are a meaningful window for nutrition and lifestyle changes
Blood sugar and insulin: insulin resistance, common with PMOS/PCOS, can disrupt ovulation
Thyroid health: both underactive thyroid and Hashimoto's can affect cycles, conception and early pregnancy
Nutrient status: folate, iron, vitamin D, B12, iodine, choline and omega-3s all matter for conception and early pregnancy
Inflammation and stress: chronic inflammation and ongoing stress can affect hormone signaling
Sperm health: male factors play a role in many couples' fertility, and sperm also develop over a few months, so partner nutrition matters too
None of this puts the responsibility on you. It simply means there are real, supportive steps you can take.
A Root-Cause Approach to Fertility Support
"Natural" doesn't mean going it alone or avoiding medical care. It means giving your body the strongest possible foundation, whether you're conceiving on your own or with assisted reproduction. We focus on:
Preconception nutrition: a nutrient-dense eating pattern built around your needs, ideally starting three or more months before trying
Cycle tracking and ovulation: understanding your cycle and what it's telling us
Blood sugar balance: especially important with PMOS/PCOS or insulin resistance
Targeted labs: thyroid, iron, vitamin D, B12, blood sugar markers and other tests based on your history, coordinated with your medical team
Prenatal supplements: choosing a quality prenatal and targeted nutrients that fit your needs, not a cabinet full of guesses
Stress and sleep: realistic ways to support your nervous system during a time that can feel emotionally heavy
Partner support: nutrition guidance for sperm health, when helpful
Support Alongside IVF or IUI
If you're working with a fertility clinic, I work alongside your reproductive endocrinologist, not in place of them. I can help you prepare in the months before a cycle, support your nutrition during treatment, and help you feel more grounded through the process.
Your plan may include personalized nutrition, targeted lab testing, behavior-change strategies, and pharmaceutical-grade, third-party tested supplements from one of our trusted partners.

Natural Fertility FAQs
How far in advance should I prepare for pregnancy?
Ideally, three or more months before trying to conceive. Eggs and sperm develop over several months, so nutrition and lifestyle changes during that window can support egg and sperm health. It's also a good time to check key nutrient levels and start a quality prenatal vitamin with folate.
What is the best diet for fertility?
There's no single fertility diet. A nutrient-dense eating pattern with plenty of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, healthy fats and quality protein supports fertility for many women. Your ideal plan depends on your cycle, labs and any conditions like PMOS/PCOS or thyroid issues.
Can you help if I have PMOS/PCOS and want to get pregnant?
Yes. Improving blood sugar balance and insulin sensitivity can support more regular ovulation for many women with PMOS/PCOS. I work alongside your OB-GYN or fertility specialist.
Do you work with women going through IVF or IUI?
Yes. I provide nutrition and lifestyle support before and during assisted reproduction, working alongside your fertility clinic.
When should I see a fertility specialist?
Generally, after 12 months of trying if you're under 35, or after 6 months if you're 35 or older. See one sooner if you have irregular or absent periods, known conditions, or other concerns. Natural support and medical fertility care work well together.
Do you offer virtual appointments?
Yes. I see clients in person in Portland, Oregon, and virtually.
Do you take insurance?
Moore Integrative Health is an out-of-network provider. I can provide a superbill you may submit for possible reimbursement, and HSA/FSA funds can often be used.
